Our Story
Founded by Hagir Elsheikh, a devoted mother and passionate advocate, Kareem’s Mission was born from her personal journey of raising a child with autism. Inspired by her son Kareem, Hagir witnessed firsthand the challenges that many families encounter when seeking resources and support. From limited support to gaps in caregiving it can feel very overwhelming. Hagir recognized the urgent need for more accessible, coordinated, and compassionate services, so she put her plan into action. Determined to create lasting change, she launched Kareem’s Mission, with a clear vision; to help other families on their journey and make a meaningful impact on the autism community.
Our Mission
Kareem's Mission is dedicated to simplifying the journey that those affected by autism go on by increasing access to resources and fostering an inclusive community. Through comprehensive support and tailored services, we aim to increasing accessibility to educational tools, therapists, service providers, and community resources to provide uplift those impacted. By reducing barriers and streamlining support systems, we aim to ease the challenges that families often experience and insure that every individual with autism has access to the resources they need to thrive, contribute, and be celebrated within their communities.
Our Vision
We envision a future where individuals no longer: struggle to gain access to essential resources, have to navigate complex systems, and live in a society that doesn't celebrate their abilities. Our goal is to help shape a more inclusive, informed, and supportive community and serve as a beacon of hope for those with ASD, guiding them to a better future. We strive to dismantle barriers and celebrate diversity, ensuring that every individual with autism is not only supported, but celebrated for their strengths, and families feel empowered rather than overwhelmed.
What We Do
Guided with passion and purpose, Kareem's Mission works to support families by bridging gaps in care and bring greater awareness to the needs of individuals affected by autism. Through partnerships with local organizations, service providers, and community leaders, we work to expand access and connect families with essential programs and resources across Central Pennsylvania and beyond. Through outreach and engagement we remain committed to raising awareness and providing physical resources that leave a lasting impact on the community.
